This group of pictures represents two originals of the subject I used as an inspiration for this design. The third picture is a digital image where I did the flowing white line drawing that is the basis for the seamless tile. The third drawing was done in layers the background layer is the original pastel and the top layer is a white lie drawing of the original.
Below you see different variations of the white line drawings on solid background colors.

These are the preliminary drawings that I did to get me to a good starting point to create the seamless squares.
Below see the the three squares that show how I divided the square to produce the seamless swatch. you can read an explanation below this group of pictures

Above you can see how I divided the square up to get the seamless edges. First you take two halves and move them across the format so that the center line is on the outside edge. I did it cross ways first. Then I divide it vertically and the center line is on the top and bottom. On close observation you can see the division lines.
See in the last image how I connected inner lines. This last step connecting these inner division and then editing the design so that there is a good flow in the design that suits you.
This made for a very detailed image so I kept the design this way and and I then determined that I needed to zoom in. Below you can see 3 images that I cut out of the original idea for more abstracted swatches. The seamless process has to be repeated with these cut outs.

These three blocks represent steps I took to zoom in and simplify the seamless swatch. The white line drawing sits on a different layer from the background color. This technique makes it easy to change and add a variety of colors. See below

Here are examples of the various color combinations I tried with this design and also the zoomed in swatch and one example of the more detailed swatch
